Principal’s Message

Welcome to Holy Cross School!

Our school is a loving place where the students are given the opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ in a faith-based environment. The faculty and staff believe in our ministry to educate the children with a faith-centered theme where students are invited to have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Our teachers are New York State certified and we are blessed to have additional staff to assist in the academic needs of our students. We have in our building Special Education teachers from the Rochester City School District, and Academic Intervention Support teachers that are funded through Title I funds. We also have the gift of a full-time counselor to help us with our social and emotional needs.

For over 135 years Holy Cross School has provided a quality education within a caring Roman Catholic Community. We have wonderful support from Holy Cross and Our Mother of Sorrows parish staff, including regular visits from our parish priests. It is our goal to educate the whole child. All different learning styles, faiths and ethnicities are embraced. We are dedicated to making sure that every student becomes a tenacious learner and a strong faith-filled individual.

Communication is considered a fundamental part of our daily routine. We strive to keep families well informed and welcome their suggestions and input. We follow the New York State Curriculum, as well as Diocesan Catholic Faith teaching. It is most important that our students find school to be a loving, caring and nurturing place where they feel safe, and happy every day.

Your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you will make for them, and we are committed to working with families to help them invest in a Christ-centered education for their child that will last a lifetime.

You are most welcome to visit us, growing in faith and learning. Please call to arrange a visit (585) 663-6533.

Peace,
Sr. Laurie Orman, RSM
